Product and License
OX App Suite is a web based collaboration software. The core product provides modules for email, calendar, tasks and online storage. Additional modules for editing documents, for encrypted email and files, and for chat and voice communication are available.
Most components are open source or open source like. Of course, commercial licenses and professional service are available too.

Technology
Almost all backend components are write in Java. No Enterprise Java, but Java utilizing the OSGi framework.
The front end is pure JavaScript. No plugins like Flash, just bleeding edge HTML5.
