As we continue to help customers migrate to world-class IMAP solutions for optimal email storage, our mission just got stronger as we have become a new family member of Open-Xchange.
As many of you know, I started Dovecot with a simple goal in mind: make email easier to maintain and make it more secure. Released in July 2002, Dovecot has been an amazing journey up to now where it is currently on more than 3 million servers worldwide delivering the high performance, security, scalability, modularity and ease of use that email runs on. Dovecot continues to be the recommended email server across operating systems: RedHat, CentOS and Ubuntu and Apple OSX Server. That doesn’t happen by chance; it’s hard work, a lot of it…and of course: a great community.
Dovecot is now a part of another open source community as we have merged with Open-Xchange.
You can read about it all in the press release, but I want you to know that some things never change, they just get better together. And we are committed to keep Dovecot the standard for IMAP solutions and services together. With the reach and innovation that Open-Xchange brings to the email market, there is no doubt that the journey and the value to Cloud service providers just got a lot more powerful.
