OX “Top Player” in Radicati 2018 Market Quadrant for 4th year in a row

May 14, 2018

The Open-Xchange team has no doubt had a very busy year, focusing on evolving our products further, sharing our vision of an open-source software and communicating its benefits to society. A few highlights include growing the world's favorite IMAP server to a 75% market share, and supporting the development of Open Cloud Foundation, the new global industry body that actively promotes open standards and ensure freedom of choice in the cloud.

Building on ongoing successes, we are pleased to report that Radicati has named OX a “Top Player” in the Messaging Platforms for Service Providers Market Quadrant 2018, for the fourth time in a row. The Radicati Group is the specialist research and analysis firm that focuses on email, security and messaging. With the worldwide Messaging Platforms for Service Providers market set to reach nearly $2.3 billion in 2018 alone, the growing demand for more advanced features and functionality to help providers offer attractive services to their subscribers in undeniable.

The criteria for this year’s quadrant for vendors were focused on scalable, reliable and agile messaging platforms designed to meet the needs of demanding service provider environments. Our OX App Suite combining webmail with contacts, calendar, personal productivity and collaboration and a personal dashboard online, offline and on mobile devices, contributed to our leading position in this year’s report. It highlights the rich communication and collaboration functionality, as well as high scalability of the OX platform and its use and provisioning of open APIs enabling integration into existing environments. These strategies help service providers build the offerings they need to enhance their core services, and therefore ‘generate incremental revenue and significantly reducing churn’, according to the report. Similarly, the addition of PowerDNS has provided a ‘foundation for secure messaging services, such as parental controls and malware filtering’ aimed at both consumers and SMBs.

Being recognized as the “Top Player”, followed by Oracle, Synchronoss Messaging and Synacor (Zimbra), is true testament to our commitment towards the ongoing development of our products. Our consistently competitive position and industry leading vision is only motivating us further to keep end users’ benefits front of mind and offer the best solutions catered to their needs, year on year.
