Collaborate to deliver enterprise-grade email backend support option to the wider Roundcube community
Roundcube’s enterprise customers across the globe can now choose to include Dovecot Pro email server software as part of their service, as a result of a partnership agreement between world's largest independent email provider Open-Xchange and Nextcloud.
The partnership forms part of wider announcement from Nextcloud around the launch of the first enterprise support offering for Roundcube – its open-source on-premise hosted webmail solution, which is used by organizations around the world, including Harvard University.
With more than four million server installations and 75 per market share, Dovecot – part of the Open-Xchange group of companies – is the world's leading email backend platform. Dovecot Pro offers a full-service email platform that delivers dynamic scalability, high performance, efficient utilization of hardware, and outstanding support to the world’s largest Telcos, ISPs, and Hosters.
Frank Karlitschek, Founder & CEO at Nextcloud, said: "Our partnership with Open-Xchange to offer Dovecot Pro as an optional email server forms an integral part of our first official enterprise support offering for Roundcube customers. Being able to offer services tailored specifically for organizations running large instances with millions of end-users will help make Roundcube more accessible to larger customers.”
Frank Hoberg, founder at Open-Xchange, said: “Our partnership with Nextcloud brings together two major players in open-source based software to deliver an enterprise-grade email backend support option to the wider Roundcube community. Based on Dovecot Pro, this delivers an email backend with range of advanced features, including its exclusive high availability architecture, extended search, and document previews, along with the highest level of support for mission-critical email they demand.”
